What to prepare before getting to the show:

✓ Register online to receive Children's Club market info.
✓ Make notes on your best-selling styles and best-selling brands.
✓ Create a list of new brands that you want to shop at the next show.
✓ Hold a meeting with your staff for their opinions and feedback.
✓ Follow Social Media (@childrensclub) to be up to date on new brands and trends.
✓ Read WWD, BOF, and other Industry newsletters to be informed on the overall business.
✓ Be a leader not a follower! Know what is happening and selling in your area by doing your homework!
✓ Plan your O.T.B. (Open to Buy)
✓ Make your market appointments.

 

What to pack:  

✓ Iphone/Anroid for taking pictures (don’t forget the charger!)
✓ Projections, OTB and calendar appointments.
✓ Business cards: keep them with you even during social events
✓ Laptop/Ipad for placing orders.
✓ Large tote bag for all the line sheets

 

Plan ahead to make your show as productive and as valuable as possible:

✓ Utilize the digital show planner to map out your day.
✓ Note the booths and vendors you want to see or with whom you have appointments by using the shortlist function on the app.
✓ Walk row by row, floor by floor. You never know what you may find.
✓ Don't be shy. If you see a busy booth, ask what time would be good for you to come back.
✓ Network: build a group of market friends that you can have lunch or dinner with and share experiences.
✓ Set a goal of visiting 5-10 new vendors at every market.
✓ Try and write your orders at the show – especially for at once merchandise
